Power Machinery Center, a leading distributor of forklifts, electric carts, and warehouse solutions, has proudly served Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern, and Tulare counties for over 75 years. As a UniCarriers dealer, the company is committed to delivering efficient, reliable, and cost-effective equipment solutions, backed by exceptional service and long-term customer support.
To maintain its reputation for quality and service, Power Machinery Center has long relied on DIS software to streamline operations. Most recently, the dealership has adopted DIS Analytics to enhance operational visibility and improve performance.
Jon Ziegler, Controller at Power Machinery Center, shared with us how the team is using analytics to reduce work-in-progress time, increase billing efficiency, and empower smarter decision-making across the organization.
How long have you been using DIS?
Jon Ziegler: “We’ve been using it for a couple of decades now at our dealership. I’ve been with them since 2017, and the prior company I was at used DIS as well. So, I’ve been a user of the product for over ten years now.”
Which DIS features do you find the most beneficial in your daily operations?
Jon Ziegler: “In the last year, I’ve started using DIS Analytics a lot, and it’s been very helpful as a Controller and a super analytical person.
That tool was, I felt like it was made for me in some ways. I spend a large amount of time helping our dealership become more efficient, as well as providing data to our customers to make actionable decisions every day.
We’ve always had a large issue with work in progress at our dealership, and we’re trying to get that number down so we can bill for our time and get the invoices into the hands of our customers sooner. Analytics has helped me reduce our work-in-progress time by almost half by getting the real-time data to our service managers, finding issues where we have with technicians not getting their stuff built out quickly. That product has really kind of transformed our billing process, so it’s been very helpful in that.”
What would you say to someone who is considering switching to DIS?
Jon Ziegler: “I would give it a high recommendation, particularly over the last couple of years. They’ve added so many new features, and I can tell the product’s constantly being worked on. Particularly since the Constellation Software merger, it really seems like the product offering is constantly changing between the service three sixty, the analytics, and just the continued product offerings and support.”
How do you see DIS supporting your dealership’s future growth?
Jon Ziegler: “We were looking at adding more features this year. We’re currently on Service Logistics and Analytics, and we’re looking at the service three sixty often. I imagine it’s going to play a big role in the future of our dealership as well.”
