Ewald Kubota has been serving the farm equipment markets in Austin and San Antonio since the 1940s. In 2024, the company acquired Lansdowne-Moody, adding nine new locations to its existing eleven.

As part of their data strategy, Chief Operations Officer Stefan Schriewer turned to the DIS Analytics Designer Package to create dealership-specific reports and dashboards that adapt to their unique processes.

DIS Analytics Designer Package

This add-on to the industry leading DIS Analytics platform was built for dealers who want greater control over their data. Whether you’re looking to make simple adjustments to our pre-designed dashboards or to create new dashboards to fit your specific processes, the Analytics Designer Package gives you the flexibility to do it all.

Streamlined Data Warehousing and Distribution

Data warehousing is costly and time-consuming. DIS Analytics does the heavy lifting.

Stefan Schriewer: “If you like Excel or have a little Excel experience, and you like to build pivot tables, that’s essentially what building Power BI dashboards is; fun and easy.

The difficult piece is distribution and data warehousing. Those can be heavy lifts. Having those covered by the business system makes it streamlined because all your data’s already there, warehoused, categorized, and checked for accuracy.”

Custom Reports Tailored to Their Dealership

Maintaining and leveraging customer data is critical but time-consuming. DIS Analytics streamlines reporting so teams can make agile decisions.

Stefan Schriewer: “Historically, if you wanted to look at something—like some of the new reports we’ve put together that are just simple things you have to check, like the recovery of parts freight—one of the managers would go into the data mine, put a report together, review it, and then take action.

With Analytics, it removes that step. Now we can just open it, everything’s presented for you, and you can take action. It’s made that whole process way more efficient and also removed the human error piece. The efficiency has been awesome.”

Building Custom Reports That Drive Action

Every dealership operates a little differently. Your reports should reflect that.

Stefan Schriewer: “We had what I’d consider housekeeping items; things that just need to be managed at a glance. Are we recovering, at the store level, hauling costs? We define that as our truck driver, depreciation for our vehicles, truck maintenance costs, fuel, and driver payroll. So, are we at least breaking even with our trucking monthly at the store level?

So, we created a report that’s just for hauling: a single screen that shows the store manager, as of yesterday (the most recent data we have), here are your expenses and here’s what you’ve recouped.

Now, we can have that conversation in real time. We can say, OK, it’s the first week of the month and you’re already behind. It’s the second week, and now you’re catching back up—good, keep going. By the third week, we’re ahead of the game. Good. Maybe we can use that last week as a freebie to focus on customer satisfaction or growing business.

It’s given us the data to make decisions faster.”

Flexibility to Change and Grow

Depending on what stage of growth a dealership is at, its reporting needs will change.

Stefan Schriewer: “Not all dealerships are necessarily going to be concerned with hauling. Maybe they use outside trucking, or maybe they run a trucking business separately. At some point, it might not even be relevant to us either, depending on whether we change our philosophy or how we look at it.

I can say the same thing for some of the other areas we’re measuring, which may not be defined the same way we define them, or may not be as important. So, being able to create these custom reports that cater exactly to our needs and then make them all look and feel consistent is huge.”

A Responsive Partnership

DIS isn’t just a software provider, we’re a collaborative partner that develops solutions to real problem, with input from dealers like Ewald Kubota.

Stefan Schriewer: “I’ve been nothing but happy with what they’ve done. It’s been happening at a pace that’s really nice.

It’s been great with the analytic and Designer Packages that they’ve been able to move quickly and say, ‘This is working,’ or, ‘This isn’t,’ and then make adjustments on the fly. They’ve been really responsive and great at explaining things in layman’s terms. A lot of what they do—like how the data is warehoused and categorized—is a heavy lift, and they’ve been really good at helping me understand what’s possible.”
