Give us some background about yourself.

Born and raised right here in Bellingham (minus a few years growing up in Ireland). I am lucky enough to have multiple citizenships and took advantage of being Canadian and went to Vancouver, BC. for University where the tuition is very inexpensive for Canadians! However, living in the city isn’t my forte, so I was happy to move back to Bellingham where traffic isn’t a thing and access to water and mountains is super easy. Funny enough, my boyfriend also works in install and his company is located on the same street!

Tell us about your hobbies and what you do in your spare time.

Whenever I have spare time I always try to spend it in the outdoors. I am fortunate enough to have access to a sailboat, and when the weather is pleasant enough I go out and explore the islands or swim in the bay. Dawn Ramsey, Solutions Response Line

Give us some background about yourself.

I am a western Washington native. I’ve lived elsewhere (Oregon, Georgia, Costa Rica) but keep gravitating back to the PNW! I previously worked for large construction and architectural firms and more recently have been in the healthcare insurance industry. My family of origin is small, I have a brother who’s lived in Germany for 30+ years and my parents are in Mount Vernon, WA. I married into a large Costa Rican family though–lots of cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and three children of our own.

Tell us about your hobbies and what you do in your spare time.

My guilty pleasure is garage sales and thrift stores. I’m always looking to match up quality goods with the people who need them. I also volunteer (previously Habitat for Humanity, Humane Society and Ronald McDonald House; currently Skookum Kids) and indulge my love of seeing new places and enjoying time with family.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Get out of bed.

What is your favorite cartoon character?

Spongebob/Patrick

What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

When I was 20 I moved to London by myself, sight unseen and without knowing a single soul. I had an entry level resume and a wet ink Office Occupations certificate (had graduated the week prior). I’d lined up a job interview from the US and thought that would be a good enough start. Thank goodness they hired me and everything turned out okay–looking back… that was insane!

What is your favorite season?

Spring!

What would be the title of your autobiography? (optional: Why?)

The WinWin Scenario, because my aim has always been to engage in ways that benefit all, whether professionally or personally.

Drivers who continue to speed despite dangerous road conditions.

Garth Johnson, Developer Operations

Give us some background about yourself.

I grew up on a sailboat till I was 10, then moved to Whatcom county.  Left home by 14, joined the Army at 16 – saw the world, but returned home to Bellingham at each opportunity. I have run my own technology business for over 25 years and also worked at both DIS and Microsoft previously. I am now finally returning home one last time – to Bellingham and DIS.  Somewhere in this story, there was a stint of living off-grid in northern Arizona as a single father of two kids (whom I homeschooled) and raising wolves – but that bit (and more) is reserved for story swapping at Rook & Rogue.  🙂

Tell us about your hobbies and what you do in your spare time.

Not an easy choice.  I have not lived a sedate or entirely rational life. Keeping it in the realm of “fun” adventures, I would probably list cave spelunking or climbing and repelling off the Wertheim castle watchtower during tourist season – without authorization – to play D&D with some other Army buddies in a “real castle”.

What song is playing on your iPod right now?

Fever Ray – all of it… I think Triangle Walk is the one this moment.

What is your favorite season?

All of them… slightly less for winter though, because I do not like being cold.

What would be the title of your autobiography? (optional: Why?)

“The lessons that I am still Learning.” – because it never stops, and I like it that way.

Have you ever met a celebrity?

Yes.  I worked in Hollywood for a while, it is an occupational hazzard.  I was somewhat more excited about getting to play with Chiat/Day’s and ILM’s rendering systems.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Complaining instead of fixing what is wrong if I can.

What was your all-time best Halloween costume?

The ones I bought and made for my kids.  It was is our favorite holiday together.  Probably Dom’s Dragon warrior and Simone’s (tasteful) deamon-girl.  They looked fantastic.
