A few weeks ago I was traveling with one of our sales representatives, Jarrod Karuza. One of our stops was A.E. Chicoine Farm Equipment in southern Manitoba. They were in the middle of hosting a Combine Clinic for their customers. It really doesn’t matter what business you are in, ongoing training is essential!
Consider these three ways that training can really pay off for your dealership:

Technology changes rapidly, and technicians must constantly update their skills. It’s no different with your staff that uses a DIS system. We regularly add new products and features, and publish better ways to use existing applications. Training is crucial to continue to get the most out of your business system.
2. Happier Employees
A happy staff is a productive staff. Studies on training show that it increases employee well-being and reduces absenteeism, mistakes and stress in the workplace. What dealership doesn’t want that?
3. Reduced Turnover
This seems pretty obvious from the previous reason, but is still worth mentioning. Employee turnover COSTS you. Average turnover cost equals one year’s salary and benefits. This can vary widely by industry, with costs much higher for retail. Ouch. Investing in your employees will make them feel that you are interested in developing their skills and can make them want to stay with your company longer.
